Powerway & Shoals Technologies Sign Agreement for South Africa PV Market
Shoals Technologies Group and Powerway Renewable Energy, supplier of mounting structures and System Integrator, have announced the signing of a strategic alliance agreement to jointly develop the PV market in South Africa and other countries in the African continent.
Through the alliance Shoals Technologies Group and Powerway Solar Solutions South Africa have established a joint venture enabling the production of Shoals' balance of systems components, at a newly acquired facility in Coega, Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
"Powerway is one of the leading suppliers in the PV industry's emerging markets, and has over the last two years established a strong footprint in South & Sub-Sahara Africa. We have been considering an alliance in the African market with a partner who has the technical know-how, market exposure, as well as BBBEE Credentials.
I am excited to launch this new alliance with Powerway as it will enable the production and supply of our BOS components to the booming South African market in accordance with local content requirements." Said Mr. Dean Solon, President & CEO of Shoals Technologies Group.
