BayWa r.e. sells half a million Hyundai solar modules over five years
The BayWa r.e. solar trading companies have reported good results of their trading partnership with the Korean Hyundai Heavy Industries Group: in the five years since they joined forces, BayWa r.e. has sold more than half a million of their high quality solar modules.
Guenter Haug, Managing Director of the BayWa r.e. solar trading division, explains: "We are proud to be a strong and reliable partner to Hyundai and our other business partners, in what is currently a difficult market for the solar industry. James Kim, Senior Vice President of Hyundai Solar added: "BayWa r.e. received their first shipment of Hyundai solar PV modules in April 2009. In the five years since then, BayWa r.e. has sold modules in excess of 120 MW. That is more than half a million panels so far, making Hyundai one of BayWa r.e.'s most significant suppliers. We are delighted to mark the 5th anniversary of our trading relationship and look forward to supplying BayWa r.e. with their millionth module in the next few years".
The majority of the 500,000 Hyundai modules sold went to installers in the core BayWa r.e. markets Germany and the UK, for solar rooftop systems on homes and commercial buildings. In addition, BayWa r.e. also distributes modules in many other countries, including Switzerland, Italy, Benelux and the USA.
BayWa r.e. renewable energy GmbH, is a wholly owned subsidiary of BayWa AG, is responsible for the BayWa Group's renewable energy business. BayWa r.e. was founded in 2009 and is based in Munich. It acts as a holding company for various business interests in the areas of solar energy, wind power, bio-energy and geothermal energy.
